From Head Coach Teri

I am a fully certified NCCP level two coach and judge in the sport of Artistic Swimming and Rhythmic Gymnastics.  My passion for inclusive coaching started with my course work in Supporting Positive Behavior Welcoming All Abilities, Respect in Sport For Activity Leaders,  Making Headway in Sport, and Coaching is Teaching.   As my coaching journey continues, I look forward to being part of a coaching community that embraces inclusion for all athletes in Artistic Swimming.  I have been coaching and mentoring swimmers for 20 years.
I have been involved with a diverse range of Synchro Clubs and camps for children, as well as Master Synchro Clubs.  I was recognized by Artistic Swimming Canada for my outstanding work and development with the athletes that I have trained.  I was the Head Coach of the Artistic Swimming Club and Assistant Coach for the Rhythmic Gymnastic teams in Newfoundland for 10 years where I planned and executed coaching sessions for Provincial, Atlantic, Summer and Winter Games and National swimmers.
I also managed and mentored coaching staff on site. I moved to British Columbia in 2002 where I began to coach for the BC Aquasonics. I coached all Recreational and Provincial athletes for 3 years.  I myself was an artistic swimmer for 23 years and won many Provincial and Atlantic titles. I have competed at National Championships, The Canada Winter Games and The American Master Nationals. It is my belief that as a coach it is my role to ensure that the swimmers have fun at every aspect of learning and swimming.
My goal is to introduce creative play in the water with and without music and to focus on the development of movement and motor skills.  Helping athletes achieve their goals in a supportive and encouraging environment is my number one priority.  I look forward to getting to know the swimmers and celebrating their achievements.
